JMP cycle was founded over 25 years ago by a handsome young fellow by the name of Joesph Mark Panapinto (hint the JMP). At the ripe age of 25 Joe decided to quit working at other motocycle shops and to take the chance of working at his own. He began in a small building buying and selling used motocycles, as well as servicing anything that someone brought in. When the motorcycle industry began to take a down turn, Joe took a risk with a popular hobby of the time, R/C cars. He built a track around back, held races on Sundays, and kept a solid customer base through rough times. Not long after the motocycle business began to pick back up, Joe was hit with a low blow. His building that he had put everthing he had into caught flames in 1999. Knowing that he could not give up on his dreams, he dusted off the ashes and came back bigger and better. He moved into his current location (1490 e. edwardsville rd.) and picked up a Kawasaki dealership. With continued growth and even a larger customer base JMP cycle is still alive and kickin'.
